We value teamwork, continuous learning, optimism, and helping others succeed in a meaningful and enjoyable work environment.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the security, reliability and performance of our core services, contributing to a culture of automation, observability, and continuous improvement. You'll be a key contributor to our platform engineering efforts, enabling our engineering teams to build and deploy high-quality applications with confidence. Note: this role is located in Costa Rica only.

The main responsibilities in this role include:

  • Design & Automation: Design, build, and maintain highly automated infrastructure and deployment pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).  Focus on self-healing systems and proactive problem prevention.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident response efforts, conduct post-incident reviews (blameless postmortems), and drive improvements to prevent future occurrences.
  • On-call: Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to and resolve production incidents; a mandatory background check will be conducted to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Observability & Performance: Implement and maintain comprehensive observability solutions (metrics, logs, traces) to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and reliability issues. Develop and refine alerting and incident response processes.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, security, and product teams to ensure alignment on reliability goals and best practices.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to optimize cloud resource utilization and reduce operational costs.
  • Support: Provide first-line support to the internal users and second/third-line support to the external users of our supported services.
  • Access Management: Manage user access and access policies for services.

About you

You are a proactive individual who does what it takes to ensure the team's success. You care deeply about the quality of the team's work and the efficiency with which that quality can be delivered.

Required skills and experience

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a related field.

  • NoSQL databases: Experience deploying and managing NoSQL databases.

Desired skills and experience

  • Contributions to open-source projects.
