About the role
As part of building our team, we are looking for a software engineer to help scale up Mender. You'll work on cutting-edge technology, tackling complex IoT device management and cloud infrastructure challenges.
- Design and develop: Build and maintain scalable backend services for the Mender Server.
- Scale our platform: Enhance our SaaS infrastructure to support millions of devices.
- Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Automate: Enhance our CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Ensure quality: Write tests, debug issues, and maintain robust code.

Required skills and experience
- Experience: Minimum 7 years in professional backend development.
- Languages: Proficient in any backend programming language (preferably Go and Python).
- Backend technologies: Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and message brokers.
- Databases: Skilled with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Cloud and infrastructure: Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
- CI/CD: Knowledge of automated testing and deployment pipelines.
- Security focus: Commitment to security best practices.
- Agile practices: Comfortable with agile methodologies.
- Communication: Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
