Director Business Development

Location: Midwest, East USA or Norway

We are an experienced and successful team with offices in Oslo, Norway and California, USA who have set out on a mission to “Secure the World’s Connected Devices”. Our two award winning products are the established CFEngine and the newly released Mender.

To strengthen our commercial team at CFEngine, we are seeking a dynamic sales and marketing person with an exceptionally strong working capacity. Our new BD person will triangulate between working closely with our product manager to ensure product/market fit, design and create relevant marketing material and pursue new customer prospects.


Main responsibilities

  • Establish new businesses from next generation CFEngine products
  • Work closely with our product manager to test and validate product hypothesis
  • Design, craft and develop marketing material
  • Secure speaking slots at various events by creating CFP (Call For Papers) applications at subject matter conferences
  • Establish and run an efficient inbound and outbound sales pipeline process

Desired skills and experience

  • 2-5 years experience
  • Startup experience preferred, with background wearing multiple hats
  • Proven sales record from Enterprise IT (ideally system management)
  • Linux engineering background (either by education or personal experience)
  • Ability to articulate yourself in clear and simple terms (as proven by your application for this job)
  • People person who does what it takes to achieve defined goals
